77.9% of Mitchell County residents old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 8,903 citizens living in Mitchell County in 2021, 77.9% were old enough to vote, equating to 6,938 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 4,244 were male, constituting 61.2%, and 2,694 were female, making up 38.8%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Mitchell County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 74.2%.
