Abbott Names Hays Chair Of Commission on State Emergency Communications

Office of the Texas Governor issued the following announcement on April 1.

Governor Greg Abbott has named Debi Hays as the presiding officer of the Commission on State Emergency Communications. The commission is charged with administering the state 9-1-1 service program and the statewide poison control program.

Debi Hays of Odessa is the County Judge of Ector County. She also serves as chair the Texas Department of Transportation Freight Advisory Coalition. Currently, she serves on the board of the Permian Playhouse, Metropolitan Planning Organization, Permian Basin Planning Board, MOTRAN, Alzheimer’s Board, Teen Court, and Juvenile Detention Board. Hays holds a license in massage therapy and cosmetology and has earned a number of certifications from the Mortgage Bankers Association.
