Cuero High and Yoakum High alumni have chosen to use the free time from the business and school closures brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic to sharpen their athletic skills.

With Cleveland Browns wide receiver and Yoakum graduate Damion Ratley in the role as coach and mentor, Cuero graduate Jordan Whittington, current Yoakum player Jayden Jones, and ex-Bulldogs Jordan Moore, Josh Moore, Tre Hights, and Willie Hights continued what they were doing at spring practice.

Ratley watched Willie Hights connect with Jordan Moore for a touchdown during a session at Bulldog Stadium. While impressed, the NFL veteran needed to drive the point about accountability home to his protégés so he dropped to the turf for pushups.

Jordan Moore is grateful to have Ratley, who is about to enter his third year in Cleveland, work him with him.

“Seeing what Damion Ratley did just motivates us,” Jordan Moore said. “What he’s doing now has always been a childhood dream of mine.”
