Plainview businesses have access to materials needed to combat the spread of COVID-19 thanks to the Plainview Safe program.

The initiative provides hand sanitizing products and masks to small businesses and local events, with the Plainview-Hale County Health Department and Chamber of Commerce reaching out to those eligible for the problem.

Funding for Plainview Safe was made possible through a grant from the Texas Department of Emergency Management backed by the CARES Act. The money can be used towards coronavirus-related expenditures.

Plainview officials strongly urge citizens to wear a mask while in public, practice social distancing, and limit unnecessary travel.
