Small businesses in Texas can receive new assistance under a Small Business Administration loan.

According to the SBA website, nonfarm businesses in Hale, Bailey, Cochran, Floyd, Hockley counties can apply for the low-interest loan. The loan is to help balance finances for businesses that have been struggling due to COVID-19.

“SBA eligibility covers both the economic impacts on businesses dependent on farmers and ranchers that have suffered agricultural production losses caused by the disaster and businesses directly impacted by the disaster," Tanya Garfield, director of SBA’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West, said. "Eligibility for these loans is based on the financial impact of the disaster only and not on any actual property damage."

The deadline to apply is March 16, 2021.
