Cost of college went up for all students at Wayland Baptist University

Tuition and fees rose 8.4 percent for 2018-19 at Wayland Baptist University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas students paid $20,070 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,560 more than the $18,510 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 96 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 252 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.2 million and 202 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.9 million.

Including all undergraduates (4,504), 1,785 students used grants or scholarships totaling $10.9 million, and 1,668 students took out $14.3 million in federal student loans.
