Announce

City of Plainview issued the following announcement.

During his tenure, Mize served as a firefighter, Equipment Operator and the last 20 years as the City of Plainview Fire Marshal.

As the Fire Marshal, Mize taught investigation and code inspection classes as a Level 2 Instructor. He also holds Master Certifications for Fire Fighter, Arson Investigator, Code Inspections and Peace Officer and is an Advanced EMT. Mize was instrumental in bringing to Plainview the Shattered Dreams Program in 2005 and received a Mayoral Proclamation for his work with the program.

“The position of Fire Marshal had been vacant for two years when I began the job,” said Mize. “I started from scratch and my philosophy of honesty, fairness and integrity allowed me to do the best job possible as the Fire Marshal. I appreciate the opportunity to serve the citizens of Plainview.”

He is married to his wife Rebecca and they have three daughters Heather, Ashley and Malissa.

“Mize has done a great job in his service to the Fire Department, the City and the community,” says Jeffrey Snyder, City Manager. “We wish him the best.”
