There were 1,348 students enrolled in Muleshoe ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 53.3% of them were boys, and 46.7% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 85.8% of the Muleshoe ISD total enrollment.

Muleshoe ISD roughly covers schools within Bailey County with its main office in Muleshoe.

Among the four schools in Muleshoe ISD, Dillman Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 386 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
