Floydada ISD Education: 687 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 687 students enrolled in Floydada ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 54.4% of them were boys, and 45.6% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 77.9% of the Floydada ISD total enrollment.

Floydada ISD roughly covers schools within Floyd County with its main office in Floydada.

Among the four schools in Floydada ISD, A. B. Duncan Collegiate Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 328 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
