2021 has 5.8% of Hockley County residents unemployed

Hockley County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.8% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 588 people out of the 21,670 living in Hockley County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Hockley County has decreased compared to the 6.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Hockley County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Everyone who had a job at the time belonged to the civilian labor force.
