Enrollment at Patton Springs ISD schools decreased by 10.5% compared to previous school year

There were 77 students enrolled in Patton Springs ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 10.5% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 54.5% of them were boys, and 45.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 55.8% of the Patton Springs ISD total enrollment.

Patton Springs ISD roughly covers schools within Dickens County with its main office in Afton.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
