How many students were enrolled in Hale Center ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 585 students enrolled in Hale Center ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52% of them were boys, and 48% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 72.6% of the Hale Center ISD total enrollment.

Hale Center ISD roughly covers schools within Hale County with its main office in Hale Center.

Among the three schools in Hale Center ISD, Akin Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 248 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
