There were 2,560 students enrolled in Snyder ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, a slight increase compared to the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.9% of them were boys, and 47.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 65.5% of the Snyder ISD total enrollment.

Snyder ISD roughly covers schools within Scurry County with its main office in Snyder.

Among the four schools in Snyder ISD, Snyder Primary School recorded the highest enrollment of 895 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
