How many American Indian students were enrolled in Post ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were three American Indian students enrolled in Post ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 66.7% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Post ISD schools welcomed 741 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.4% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Post ISD roughly covers schools within Garza County and has a main office in Post.

All three schools in Post ISD schools enrolled one American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
