There were two American Indian students enrolled in Littlefield ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 50% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Littlefield ISD schools welcomed 1,203 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Littlefield ISD roughly covers schools within Lamb County and has a main office in Littlefield.

Among the four schools in Littlefield ISD schools, Littlefield Primary School recorded the highest enrollment of American Indian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of one student.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
