How many American Indian students were enrolled in Scurry County schools in 2021-22 school year?

There were nine American Indian students enrolled in Scurry County schools in the 2021-22 school year, 18.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Scurry County welcomed 3,092 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, American Indian comprised 0.3% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the six schools in Scurry County, only Snyder High School and Snyder Primary School enrolled any American Indian students, welcoming three students each in the 2021-22 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
