H AND R BLOCK: H&R Block extends free tax preparation for frontline workers through end of June

Taxes

H and R Block issued the following announcement on June 1

Police, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and healthcare workers can receive free expert help for federal and state returns without going into an office through H&R Block’s Tax Pro Go

As a way to continue thanking frontline workers for their selfless service, H&R Block is extending free Tax Pro Go – expert-prepared virtual tax service – for police, firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and healthcare workers through the end of June.

A recent H&R Block study found that in the wake of the pandemic, 54% of respondents plan on seeking out human help over artificial/automated help when it comes to financial matters. Providing virtual tax preparation to frontline workers for free is H&R Block’s way of honoring the people who are helping people and communities everywhere get through the coronavirus crisis.

“We have received an outpouring of gratitude from frontline workers for offering this service,” said Jeff Jones, president and CEO of H&R Block. “They are very thankful that we have helped take care of their taxes while they take care of people in their communities. Free tax preparation is just a small way we can do our part, and realizing how much it is helping, we knew we had to continue to offer frontline workers free Tax Pro Go.”

Frontline workers can visit www.hrblock.com/frontline to get started. They will need to upload a picture of their work ID showing they are a police, firefighter, emergency medical technician (EMTs), or healthcare worker for the tax professional to apply the offer.
